Item Manager

The Item Manager is a powerfull tool that lets you control every aspect of an item available on your site. Here is a list of the features of this tool:

• Manage images for an item. You can specify thumbnails, medium, large, and 3 alternate images for an item.
• Manage detail information to specify names, descriptions, or bulletpoints other than what is in Quickbooks.
• Manage Amazon.com integration information.
• Manage Variations. This allows you to configure a parent-child relationship between items.
• Manage Cross-sells. This populates the "Related Items" feed in the right-hand column of your site.
• Control Authorization on a per-customer, per-item basis. This can be used to only allow certain customers to be able to add an item to their cart.

First you will see a list of items and several filter options. you can filter using partial names and words to find products. You can also filter by category.

Click on the desired item to go to it's management interface. Fields are spread across 5 tab sub sections. clicking a tab will save your changes and then take you to the next tab area. This is where you can see several QuickBooks values, and set many additional values provided by the IAM Online store to supplement the QuickBooks data. All data is optional. You will typically set 2 or 3 of the image fields with thumbnail, add bullet points, alias names and descrioptions, and more.

When you are done, click the update button on any tab. This will return you to the item list where you left off, automatically recalling the same filter settings and page number you were on.

This is multi user safe, like all of the system, so you could split your workload among several employees, each working on a particular part of your item list.

NOTE: many clients with over hundreds or thousands of items prefer to use the excel importer to set alias names, images, buillet points, etc.
